The BRAG Van ready to be loaded up with food parcels.

BRAG’s teams show true community spirit.

One of our BRAG projects is called Levenmouth Together and its recent events have included: the Leven Runfest, Food and Drink Festival, Sun, See and Sound and the Christmas Market – Fayre in the Square. Along with our Square Start team this small group was struggling to continue and with the recent cancellation of its joint event with the Subaru Owners Club ‘Cars, Chocolate 4 kids’ and the postponement of the 3 day May Fair in the Square it was decided that it was time to deploy its resources where they could really help make a difference.

BRAG’s Square Start and Levenmouth Together staff them teamed up and have been doing all they can to make this crisis as easy as possible for the Levenmouth Community. Joining forces with the People’s Pantry and Fife Council they have been using the BRAG van to deliver boxes of essential supplies to 38 local families that BRAG had been working with. These boxes contained goods that have been kindly donated by local businesses including Lidl, Stuarts the Bakers, Aldi, Fife Creamery and Fair Share.

The team have also been assisting at the people’s pantry serving those members who can visit whilst also delivering food parcels to the members who are self-isolating.

BRAG’s Managing Director Brian Robertson- Fern said: “Now, more than ever before our communities need us. During these unprecedented times our communities need those who are fit and able to pitch in and help. BRAG have been proud to do its bit and its testimony to everyone involved that no one is left behind. You too can do your bit. If you want to get involved within your community, you can connect with a group in your area.”

The scheme is called helping hands and is being managed by Fife Voluntary Action. You can email [email protected] or call 0800 3896046
