stalls and shoppers at the socially distant summer market

Summer Market is a hit!

Together Apart the largest post lockdown market in Fife.

On Saturday, 18th of July the sun was shining on Levenmouth Together’s Socially Distant summer market. The market hosted over 30 stalls ranging from arts and crafts to speciality food and drink with some local community groups involved too.

This was the largest post lock-down market to be hosted in Fife so far and safety for staff, volunteers, stall holders and visitors was paramount. The market was the first held at BRAG’s Levenmouth Community Enterprise Centre and the site was carefully planned to adhere to government guidelines. A one-way system was used with visitors browsing stalls carefully spaced with a one-way shortcut leading back to the start for those who wanted to revisit.

We had live music from local lass Lily Mentiplay who delighted shoppers with her range of classics to suit any age from Vera Lynn through to Abba and modern hits, the shoppers were happy. There were smiles all around and it gave everyone a little taste of the normality that we had all missed so much.

Feedback after the event has been positive with stallholders and visitors alike commenting on how safe they felt and how it was a lovely change. The organisation of the market with dedicated entrance and exit was also praised. Most stallholders had sold out their stock with visitors loving the speciality food stalls. We hope to arrange another one, keep your eyes peeled on our social media pages for updates.

All in all a great success in such difficult times.
