I was born in a small town in Northern Ireland at a very challenging time. Living and growing up through this taught me much that I have carried with me through life. After graduating in Chemistry I moved to the UK mainland to work. I have worked for a number of blue chip Companies in all regions of the UK experiencing redundancy on a number of occasions. I settled in Angus Scotland in 1988 working in a number of senior positions within Operations for the Pharmaceutical giant GSK. A job move brought me to Fife to head up operations at Silberline Ltd in Leven. I moved jobs in 2013 to work for Dundee City Council running their Energy from Waste Plant becoming the Managing Director in 2014.
I retired in 2017 and was looking for a small number of opportunities where I could input my skills and knowledge to help organisation in the third sector and in so doing give back something of what I have been so blessed to receive throughout my working life. BRAG seemed to be a good fit as to type of organisation that I wished to become involved with. I am keenly interested in achieving sustainable solutions to improving education standards and job opportunities for those less well-off who have missed out in some way through their early life years. I trust that I will become a valuable member of the BRAG trustees’ team.
